LILY ALLEN apologises to EDITH BOWMAN for calling her a ‘trollop’

Thursday, August 20, 2026 - Lily Allen has publicly apologised to broadcaster Edith Bowman for a harsh comment she made nearly 20 years ago.

In a new interview with Perfect magazine, the singer named Bowman when asked who she would apologise to, admitting that she called the former Radio 1 presenter a “trollop” in an early MySpace post for “absolutely no” reason.

The incident dates back to 2006, when Allen was emerging as a major new music star. Her post criticised Bowman and mocked her enthusiasm for musicians and bands.

Bowman later confronted Allen about the comments during an interview at the T in the Park festival, with Allen reportedly explaining that she had become frustrated while waiting for Radio 1 to play her music and had lashed out.

Allen’s latest apology puts a fresh spotlight on how comments made in the early days of social media can continue to follow public figures decades later.

By openly acknowledging that the attack was unjustified, the singer has closed a chapter that began during her breakthrough years and reminded fans that even impulsive online remarks can have a lasting impact.
