ARIANA GRANDE asks judge to help unmask hackers behind years of leaked music

Thursday, August 20, 2026 - Ariana Grande is taking legal action to identify the people she says have been hacking accounts linked to her collaborators and leaking her unreleased music.

The pop star has asked a Los Angeles judge for permission to issue expedited subpoenas to online platforms and other third parties that may hold account, subscriber and login information capable of revealing the alleged hackers’ identities.

The case follows Grande’s lawsuit against anonymous defendants, known as “John Does,” over alleged theft and distribution of unreleased songs, recordings, photos and other material.

Her legal filings claim the activity dates back to at least 2019 and that 45 unreleased songs were stolen and leaked in 2023 alone. Grande says the alleged hackers used anonymous accounts and peer-to-peer payment platforms, making them difficult to trace.

The legal push highlights how seriously Grande is treating the continued leaks and the threat to her creative work. Her team has warned that valuable digital evidence could disappear if accounts are deleted or records are erased, making the request for fast access to third-party data urgent.

If the subpoenas reveal the identities behind the alleged operation, Grande could move forward with legal action against those responsible and send a strong warning to others targeting unreleased material.
