SAM WOOD responds to claims his weight loss jabs venture is “motivated by profits”

Thursday, June 2, 2026- Australian fitness entrepreneur Sam Wood has pushed back against criticism suggesting his new weight-loss medication venture is driven primarily by financial gain.

The former Bachelor star, who has expanded into telehealth services offering access to prescription weight-loss treatments, says the business is focused on helping people manage their health rather than “cashing in” on a trend.

Wood’s comments come amid broader public debate over the rise of GLP-1 weight-loss medications and the growing number of fitness and wellness brands entering the space.

Supporters of the venture argue that increased accessibility and medical supervision can help patients achieve better outcomes, while critics have raised concerns about commercialisation and the rapid expansion of profit-driven services in a sensitive health category.

As scrutiny around weight-loss treatments continues to intensify, industry observers say public figures entering the medical wellness sector are facing higher expectations for transparency and ethical positioning.

Wood has maintained that his intention is to combine technology and healthcare access responsibly, as the conversation around weight management, medication, and lifestyle solutions becomes increasingly mainstream.
