Married at First Sight UK star arrested on suspicion of r*pe after BBC documentary

Thursday, June 2, 2026- A cast member from Married at First Sight UK has been arrested on suspicion of rape following allegations that emerged during a BBC Panorama investigation into the reality series.

The arrest is part of an ongoing Metropolitan Police inquiry triggered by multiple claims of sexual misconduct involving participants on the show.

The BBC documentary aired in May and included allegations from former female contestants who claimed they were raped by their on-screen husbands during filming, along with other reports of non-consensual sexual activity.

In response to the widening scandal, authorities and broadcasters have faced growing pressure to review how participants were safeguarded during production.

Channel 4, which broadcasts the UK version of the show, has since removed past seasons from streaming platforms and launched external reviews into welfare procedures and complaint handling. The production company CPL has defended its safeguarding standards, while police continue their investigation and have encouraged additional potential victims to come forward.
