Perdue accuses competitor of copying its 6-7 Chicken Nuggets in new lawsuit

Thursday, June 25, 2026-Perdue has filed a new lawsuit accusing a rival food company of copying its popular "6–7 Chicken Nuggets" product, claiming the competing nuggets closely imitate its recipe, appearance, and overall branding.

The poultry giant argues that the similarities could confuse consumers and unfairly benefit the competitor in the highly competitive frozen food market.

According to the complaint, Perdue is seeking legal action to protect its intellectual property and prevent further sales of the disputed product while the case moves through the courts.

The company maintains that it invested significant time and resources into developing and marketing the nuggets, making the alleged imitation a serious business concern.

The lawsuit adds to growing legal battles over branding and product design within the food industry, where companies are increasingly defending their products against claims of imitation.

As the case unfolds, the outcome could influence how food manufacturers protect unique product concepts and compete in an increasingly crowded marketplace.
